Every cone passes through a controlled, multi-stage process – from package winding and dyeing to drying, lubrication, rewinding and final inspection. Our colourists and technicians work together to fine-tune recipes, check shade evenness and verify performance parameters such as strength, elongation and seam integrity before a lot is cleared for dispatch.
Indigo operates a dedicated processing unit with separate lines for sampling and bulk production. Automated winding machines, controlled-bath dyeing equipment, two-stage drying systems and in-house labs allow us to maintain repeatability from one order to the next. Visual inspections and on-ground quality checks are built into every stage, ensuring that the cones you unpack are ready to run on the machine floor.
Quality at Indigo is built into every stage of production, not checked at the end. Our lab tests each lot for shade accuracy, strength, elongation, colourfastness and seam performance in line with global standards. With certifications such as OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, REACH, ISO 9001:2015, GRS, Higg Index and MSME ZED, we help manufacturers reduce sourcing risk and meet international compliance requirements.
Smitz Marketing has been recognised by Shirley, Manchester UK, for maintaining uninterrupted Oeko-Tex Class 1 certification for over 25 years, making INDIGO one of the oldest and longest-standing certified thread manufacturers from India under this standard.
